Majestic approached me to collaborate with Ed as he was wrapping up Millennial Falcon. The concept was to spend a couple of days with him and his family, documenting parts of his life and interweaving that footage with Ed's webcam-style narration and archival material, including photos and video. Our goal was to gather enough content to support both the music videos and the documentary.

We shot a combination of digital footage and Super 8mm film. My initial plan was to rely more heavily on the film stock, but due to some low-light conditions and the sheer volume of footage needed, we struck a nice balance between the two formats.

I thoroughly enjoyed capturing what was essentially a documentary-style "day in the life" of a musician, blended with the creative freedom of a music video. The result, I hope, is a lo-fi, wabi-sabi glimpse into Ed's life and his family.
